Shashank Singh brought out all his shots. (Photo credit: BCCI)Shashank Singh gave the Dharamshala crowd a moment to remember with a massive six that sent Mayank Yadav’s delivery flying out of the stadium during the final overs of Punjab Kings’ (PBKS) innings against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in the IPL 2025 on Sunday night.
The huge shot came in the 17th over and even hit the roof of the HPCA Stadium, leaving fans stunned, including team co-owner Preity Zinta, who was clearly amazed.
Batting first, Punjab Kings put up a strong total of 236 runs, thanks to a brilliant 91 from Prabhsimran Singh and a quick 33 not out from Shashank off just 15 balls.
The match began with a bang as Prabhsimran smashed 20 runs off Mayank Yadav in the second over, including three sixes in a row.
Captain Shreyas Iyer chipped in with a valuable 45, and late cameos from Marcus Stoinis and Shashank helped PBKS finish strong.

Prabhsimran meanwhile, was on track for his second IPL century, but a risky switch hit off Digvesh Rathi cost him his wicket, leaving him just nine runs short of a well-earned hundred. He smacked 6 fours and 7 sixes in what was an entertaining knock.
Mayank Yadav, known for his fiery pace this season, struggled this time, giving away 60 runs in his spell without taking a wicket.
Punjab wrapped up their innings at 236 for 5 in 20 overs. The hosts smashed a total of 16 sixes in the innings, with 13 of them coming against the fast bowlers.
In reply, LSG were off to a horrible start with Arshdeep Singh rocking their top-order, with wickets of Mitchell Marsh (0), Aiden Markram (13) and the dangerous Nicholas Pooran (6) in his kitty.
Skipper Rishabh Pant too couldn’t change his fortunes and was dismissed for just 18 off 17. LSG eventually lost the game by 37 runs.
