    Lucknow Super Giants
    Price – Rs 27 crore

Lucknow Super Giants owner Sanjiv Goenka was one happy man after securing the services of Rishabh Pant. The Delhi Capitals did opt for an RTM bid at Rs 20.75 crore for the wicketkeeper batsman but Lucknow raised the bidding by a staggering margin to Rs 27 crore, make him the most expensive signing in the auction’s history.

Pant however, hasn’t really got firing so far in the tournament. His team, mainly Mitchell Marsh and the dangerous Nicholas Pooran have covered up for his shortcomings in the batting unit. Pant has scored just 19 runs in four innings with a highest of 15.

    Punjab Kings
    Price – Rs 26.75 crore

Having led Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) to victory last season, and having had a prolific Champions Trophy, Shreyas Iyer’s stocks were always going to be high. He was bought by Punjab Kings after facing stiff competition from KKR and DC at the auction table.

And Iyer has so far lived up to expectations, with 168 runs in four innings and a highest of 97*. He has adjusted pretty well to the No.3 spot at his franchise and is leading the charge as captain too. In his leadership, Punjab Kings’ brand of cricket feels like it has become much more eye-grabbing.

    Kolkata Knight Riders
    Price – 23.75 crore

As an all-rounder Venkatesh Iyer has rose to limelight fast and KKR have shown trust in his services. In 2023, he became only the second KKR batsman in 15 years after Brendon McCullum to crack an IPL hundred. And he hasn’t looked back from that season.

But this year, the pressure of that huge price tag might start to tell on him. So far, he has scored 114 runs in 4 innings, with a fifty included. But KKR will want more of him, especially in the crunch phase of the tournament.

    1. Arshdeep Singh

    Punjab Kings
    Price – 18 crore

Six teams battled it out on the auction table for Arshdeep Singh, that’s how highly he is rated. However, Punjab Kings ultimately bought him through the Right-to-Match card. Arshdeep is the leader of Punjab Kings’ pace attack.

He is their designated new ball as well as death over specialist. With six wickets in four games, the left-armer starting to find rhythm and has been instrumental in his team’s wins.

    Punjab Kings
    Price – 18 crore

Easily one of the most successful bowlers in the IPL’s history, Chahal was bought by Punjab Kings after a few years at Rajasthan Royals until this season.

At Mullanpur, PBKS’ homeground big boundaries might work perfectly for Chahal, but it feels as though he has been underbowled so far. A fearless leg-spinner, Chahal however has the quality and might come to the party sooner rather than later. He has one wicket so far: that of Nicholas Pooran.
