A dot ball is like gold dust in a T20 game. That’s what they say. Especially in a tournament like the IPL, where batsmen are looking to go full throttle right from the word go.

The BCCI has also introduced a fabulous initiative along with TATA, wherein every dot ball bowled in the tournament will lead to the planting of 18 trees.

A tree graphic lights up on the screen each time a dot ball is delivered, symbolizing the green impact.

In IPL 2025, animated graphics of dot balls transforming into green trees have replaced the usual dots on the scorecard each time a dot ball is bowled.

And despite some really high-scoring games already having played so far in the IPL this season, some bowlers have really kept the batsmen quiet.

Their hard work and skill has not only earned them respect but a special award of a sapling and a cash prize of Rs.1 Lakh during the post-match presentation.

Khaleel Tops the List

Khaleel Ahmed is on top of this list and has bowled the most number dot balls in the tournament so far: 78 of them.

While his franchise, Chennai Super Kings (CSK) have struggled to get going and are placed tenth in the Points Table, Khaleel has led the bowling unit well, with plenty of dots in the powerplay overs.

Another Indian pacer, Mohammad Siraj, who missed out on a Champions Trophy spot in the Indian Team is making the ball do the talking. He is second on the list with: 73 dots.

KKR spinner Varun Chakravarthy (70 dots), Prasidh Krishna for Gujarat Titans (65 dots) and Harshit Rana for KKR (64 dots) are next on the list.
