Mitchell Starc‘s brilliance led Delhi Capitals defeated Rajasthan Royals at the Arun Jaitley Stadium with a thrilling win in the Super Over on Wednesday night in IPL 2025.
Tristan Stubbs hit the winning six with 5 needed off 3 in the Super Over, bowled by Sandeep Sharma for the Royals.
KL Rahul and Stubbs were the batsmen at the crease for the Capitals in their chase of 12 runs, after Mitchell Starc bowled the Super Over for the Capitals conceding just 11.
Rajasthan lost two wickets to run-outs: Riyan Parag, followed by Yashasvi Jaiswal in the Super Over, with Shimron Hetmyer unbeaten and one ball left.

The win took Delhi Capitals to the top of the Points Table, with 10 points.
The IPL witnessed the first Super Over of the tournament in four years on Wednesday night, thanks to Starc bowling an outstanding last over with Rajasthan Royals needing 9 runs off 6 balls. The game went into a tie with Jurel managing only a single when 2 were needed off 1 and was run-out.

Starc held his nerves and attacked the block hole with Shimron Hetmyer and Dhruv Jurel at the crease for the visitors. The left-armer bowled reverse-swinging yorkers that made it difficult for batsmen to get underneath.
Rajasthan’s Chase
Earlier skipper Sanju Samson won the toss and chose to field first. Abishek Porel top scored for the hosts, with 49 off 37 balls. Stubbs (34* off 18) and Axar Patel (34 off 14) chipped-in with crucial runs in the death. Jofra Archer emerged as the pick of the bowlers with 2-32 in his four overs. Delhi Capitals ended with a total of 188 for 5.
Sanju Samson and Yashasvi Jaiswal began the chase well, with the right-hander striking a few big hits before walking off retired hurt for 31 off 19. Jaiswal continued and struck a decent half-century before he was dismissed by Kuldeep Yadav for 51 (37), with 3 fours and 4 sixes in his innings.
Nitish Rana was among the runs too, scoring 51 off 28 before being trapped in front by a Starc yorker.
