Former India bowling all-rounder Irfan Pathan is not part of the commentary panel for the ongoing season of the IPL. This news came as a shock to many.

Irfan, who was working as a commentator since long, was recently left out of the IPL 2025 commentary panel due to dissatisfaction amongst broadcasters.

According to reports, they were unhappy with him bringing personal grudges into his commentary, both on-air and on his social media platforms.

Irfan meanwhile, didn’t waste anytime during this peak cricket season and started his own YouTube channel. Since launching his own channel, just two weeks back, he has already crossed 333k subscribers, that shows fans’ love for the former India star.

‘Seedhi Baat with Irfan Pathan’ is the name of Pathan’s YouTube show, where he provides fans with unfiltered, in-depth analysis and insights from the game.

However, only recently, a fan shared a video on Twitter that is apparently from a broadcast during the Border-Gavaskar Trophy where India lost 3-1 to the host and Irfan is heard criticising Virat Kohli.

In the video, Irfan emphasizes on the need for players to go back to domestic cricket after a dip in form, as even greats like Sachin Tendulkar used to do that.

Irfan also questioned Kohli’s technique as to why he was getting dismissed in similar manner and not coming up with solutions to improve.

Many believe it was this outspokenness of Irfan that led him to his own ouster from the IPL commentary panel.
