The washout meant both teams earned one point each, taking SRH’s total to seven. With only three matches left in their league stage, the maximum they can now reach is 13 points. Since four teams have already crossed the 14-point mark, SRH is officially out of the playoff race.
Earlier in the game, SRH had taken control by limiting Delhi Capitals to 133 for seven. But just as they prepared to chase the target, heavy rain began during the break and forced the match to be called off.
Coming off a strong campaign last season where they reached the final, SRH entered this year as one of the favourites. However, their performance has fallen short, with only three wins to show so far.
The home side didn’t get a chance to bat as heavy rain poured for over an hour during the innings break. With the downpour leaving the field unplayable and not enough time for the groundstaff to restore conditions, the match was called off and both teams had to settle for a point each.

The result gave Delhi Capitals some breathing room in the standings, while officially ending Sunrisers Hyderabad’s playoff hopes.
SRH will now have a four-day break before they face Kolkata Knight Riders at home in Hyderabad. Meanwhile, Delhi Capitals head to Dharamshala for a must-win clash against Punjab Kings on May 8.
Under Australian star Pat Cummins’ leadership SRH reached the finals last year, but came up short against KKR. They sit at the 8th spot in the Points Table at the moment though. They have only registered three wins in 11 games.
None of SRH’s batters has crossed 400 runs so far. Abhishek Sharma tops their run-scoring charts with 314 runs, followed by wicketkeeper batsman Heinrich Klaasen at 311 runs.
Among the bowlers, Harshal Patel has scalped the most wickets, 14, followed by Cummins (13).
