Things got heated outside the M Chinnaswamy Stadium after the game ended in a thriller. (Photo credit: Screengrab Twitter)A video has gone viral on social media showing a heated argument between a Chennai Super Kings (CSK) fan and two Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) supporters outside the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium on Saturday, May 3 after their IPL 2025 clash.
The CSK fan was holding a poster of MS Dhoni celebrating their 2023 IPL title, which seemed to trigger the verbal spat. Police had to step in as things got tense after RCB narrowly defeated CSK by just two runs.
It was one of the most exciting matches of the season, with fans buzzing both inside and outside the stadium.
Earlier, Bengaluru had posted a massive total of 213/5, thanks to brilliant half-centuries from Virat Kohli (62), Jacob Bethell (55), and Romario Shepherd, who smashed an unbeaten 53 off just 14 balls, one of the fastest in IPL history.
Chennai nearly pulled off a miracle in their chase. Youngster Ayush Mhatre played a sensational knock of 94 off 48 balls, and Ravindra Jadeja stayed unbeaten on 77.

Together, they added 114 runs for the third wicket. Mhatre even smashed Bhuvneshwar Kumar for 26 runs in the Powerplay, setting the tone early.
Mhatre used all the skills and smart batting tricks he picked up during long practice sessions at Mumbai’s famous Oval Maidan to take apart the Bengaluru bowling attack, which was missing injured fast bowler Josh Hazlewood.
Despite their effort, CSK fell just short, ending at 211/5. Yash Dayal bowled the last over of the game with the visitors needing 15 runs. The left-armer successfully managed to defend despite bowling a no-ball that went for six.
With this win, RCB climbed to the top of the IPL points table, earning 16 points from 11 matches.
RCB will play their next game at the Chinnaswamy Stadium on May 13 against Sunrisers Hyderabad and fans will be watching closely to see if there’s more drama.
