In a deeply tragic incident, a deadly terrorist assault in Pahalgam, Jammu & Kashmir, has claimed the lives of 28 innocent civilians.

The nation is in mourning, with widespread anger and sorrow expressed across the country. In the aftermath of the attack, a significant development has affected Pakistan’s cricket ecosystem.

And as per media reports, Fancode has halted the live streaming of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2025 in India, starting April 24.

This move is seen as a major setback for the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and is likely to impact the PSL’s digital reach within India.

While the IPL 2025 continues in full swing across India, PSL 2025, which began on April 11, has already completed 13 matches in Pakistan. Until now, these matches were available to Indian viewers through FanCode.

However, with the streaming suspension, the remaining fixtures will no longer be broadcast in the country, significantly denting PSL’s visibility and online engagement in the Indian market.

On Tuesday, gunmen launched a horrific attack on a group of tourists in the Pahalgam region, resulting in a massacre. Twenty-seven people, including two foreign nationals and two local shawl traders, lost their lives in the indiscriminate firing.

The incident has been labelled as the deadliest in the valley since the Pulwama attack in 2019.

Initial investigations hint at possible involvement of Pakistan-based elements, triggering widespread outrage across India. The demand for strict action has surged, with citizens urging Prime Minister Narendra Modi to deliver a firm response.

India’s Immediate Response to the Pahalgam Attack:

  • The Indus Water Treaty has been suspended.
  • Complete halt to all movement at the Attari border
  • Cancellation of all visas issued to Pakistani citizens
  • Order to shut down the Indian Embassy in Pakistan
  • These measures mark a strong diplomatic and strategic stance taken by India in response to the terror strike.
