Chennai Super Kings slumped to yet another defeat in the IPL 2025 on Tuesday night. CSK lost a hard-fought game against Punjab Kings by 18 runs. This was their fourth loss on the trot in the tournament and now they sit on the ninth position in the Points Table, only above Sunrisers Hyderabad.

Wicketkeeper batsman MS Dhoni’s cameo was however one of the positives for CSK in their defeat. Dhoni scored 27 off 12 while coming in at No.5. He hit 3 sixes and 1 four in his innings before getting caught at short fine leg in the final over of the game, bowled by Yash Thakur.

Meanwhile, Dhoni also became the first wicketkeeper ever to take 150 catches in the history of the IPL. Dhoni’s catch to dismiss Nehal Wadhera off Ravichandran Ashwin took him to this milestone.

It was opener Priyansh Arya’s fabulous maiden IPL century however that was the main highlight of the game. Arya smashed Chennai bowlers to all corners with a see-ball hit-ball approach while wickets tumbled from the other end.

He eventually finished with 103 off 42 balls, smashing 7 fours and 9 sixes in the process. Arya reached his century in just 39 balls which is now also the fifth fastest in the tournament’s rich history.

The youngster was rightfully adjudged Player of the Match for his performance. Courtesy his knock, Punjab Kings now at the fourth position, tied on 6 points with four teams.
