Vaibhav Suryavanshi smashed his maiden IPL century on Monday night as Rajasthan Royals beat Gujarat Titans by eight wickets.

The 14-year old scored a hundred off just 35 balls at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur. The left-hander broke all records, chasing Titans’ total of 209 for 4. It was also the fastest hundred by an Indian in the IPL.

It was also the second fastest ton ever in the IPL’s rich history. The IPL record for the fastest century belongs to Chris Gayle, who had scored his hundred off just 30 balls, playing for RCB against Pune Warriors in April 2013.

Suryavanshi smashed it to all corners before being bowled by Prasidh Krishna for 101 off 38 balls. He smacked 7 fours and 11 sixes on his way to history.

THE MOMENT

It was Suryavanshi and Yashasvi Jaiswal’s massive 166-run partnership that sealed the game for Rajasthan.

In the fourth over bowled by Ishant Sharma, Suryavanshi made his intentions clear as he smashed 28 runs.

The carnage continued right until he reached his century. The young genius hit 30 off Karim Janat’s over, who was also making his debut for the Titans.

Suryavanshi’s extra-ordinary innings gathered praise from plenty of cricketers – current and former, on social media.

Suryavanshi’s hundred made even coach Rahul Dravid stand up and applaud, leaving behind his wheelchair, in the dugout.

Suryavanshi also slammed the fastest fifty of the season, reaching the milestone inside just 17 balls.

SMASHING IT TO ALL CORNERS

It was a must-win game for the Royals and they were without the services of skipper Sanju Samson. However, Suryavanshi’s exploits didn’t make them miss their talismanic captain even once as he went all out to demolish the Titans.
